Description

On a dark, silvery moonlit night, Sophie is snatched from her bed by a giant.
Luckily it is the Big Friendly Giant, the BFG, who only eats snozzcumbers and glugs frobscottle.

But there are other giants in Giant Country.
Fifty foot brutes who gallop far and wide every night to find human beans to eat.

Can Sophie and her friend the BFG stop them? Let’s hope so – otherwise the next child a gruesome giant guzzles could be YOU.

And now you can listen to THE BFG and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry – plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!

While he can muzzle miscreants, he tends to leave a slick of slobber in his wake this time, Petey the cat's dragged in a tiny bit of trouble a double in the form of a super-cute kitten. Dog Man will have to work twice as hard to bust these furballs and remain top dog.Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is a sequel to the colossal hit 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid’. The story rotates around an 8th grader Gregory Heffley who is facing some problems which usually is not faced by a mid-school child. The new academic year has just started at school. Greg, in his journal, initiates by focusing on how disastrous his summer vacations went. Greg is a kid, who is considered as a recluse by his peers due to the “cheese touch”. Although, he tries to forget the past things as a new and fresh academic year is about to start, things do not go down well with him as his own brother Rodrick Heffley knows one of Greg’s dirty secret. As an 8th grader, Greg has to face many situations like, wooing girls, prosper in the talent hunt being conducted by the school and the most important of them all, hiding his secret. Greg however, is successful in passing the “cheese touch” to Jeremy Pindle. In his journal, Greg also mentions about his best school buddy Rowley Jefferson, who had gone to South America during the summer vacations. Also there is a mention about the fact that how Greg’s mother has been struggling to make Greg and his brother Rodrick behave like other usual 'brothers’. But such 'usual brotherly behaviour’ is not acceptable to Greg because Rodrick has the leverage of knowing Greg’s 'dirty secret’ and resultantly treats Greg at his own wish and will. All the above given stuff is beautifully narrated by the author in an entertaining manner with lots of amusing life events discussed in the book. The author has tried to go deep into almost every single facet that a middle school kid faces in his everyday life. The narration is given in a humorous manner.Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules saw its release in the year 2008 and is available as a Paperback copy. The original version of this edition, Diary of A Wimpy Kid came into print in the year 2007 i.e. just a year before the sequel’s release. The sequel was adapted as a Hollywood movie which released in 2011 going by the same name. Diary of a Wimpy Kid narrates the story of Greg Heffley who was also the main protagonist of other books in the series of Diary of a Wimpy kid, as he goes into middle school where undersized weaklings like him has to share the hallway with much stronger, taller and meaner boys and how he struggles to fit in there. Greg’s mother has gone back to the college for some months and with his friend Susan also gone, Greg is left alone to take care of him and the household chores. While he has been long waiting to grow up, when he actually does, he realises that there is too much hype associated with being a grown up. The hazards of being a grown up is more than the benefits and the things that he experiences, it is not unique to him and all the readers too can associate well with it. He has to face the 'ugly truth’ of growing up and the skilful narration and anecdotes are not just hilarious but also an eye opener for all the kids praying to grow up soon. The book truly justifies why childhood is called the most amazing part of life.
